Commissions & Collectors
The experience of receiving one of my pieces is intended to feel as personal and considered as the work itself. I do not want the piece to become detached from its making once it leaves the studio, so care is given not only to how each work is made, but also to how it is prepared, packaged, and passed on.
Each piece will be carefully packaged and sent with the same love, attention, and thought that shaped its making. I want the experience to feel thoughtful rather than purely transactional, something closer to receiving a meaningful object with a story behind it than simply opening a parcel.
Every sold piece will be accompanied by a handwritten note addressed to its new owner. Alongside a personal thank you, this will often include further context about the piece, its meaning, symbolism, or the ideas that shaped it, as well as small details or observations specific to that work. Where appropriate, I may also include small facts or points of interest connected to the materials, subject, or wider story behind the piece.
For bespoke or custom work, the process itself will also be collaborative and personal. I want collectors to feel as involved as they would like to be, whether that means working closely together from the beginning or giving me more freedom to interpret an idea in my own way. Conversations can take place by email or through a scheduled video call, such as FaceTime or Zoom, depending on what suits best.
Collectors will also be able to choose how involved they would like to be as the piece develops. For those who want to follow the making process more closely, I can share updates along the way. Others may prefer to step back and allow the work to unfold with more surprise. Either approach is welcome, but in all cases, I want the process to remain personal, open, and thoughtfully shared.
I also want each sale to carry something outward-looking with it. For that reason, 5% of the profit from each piece will be donated to a wildlife or conservation charity. In that way, each piece can carry its meaning beyond itself and contribute, in some small way, to the natural world that inspires so much of my work.
At the heart of this is a desire to keep the entire experience personal, sincere, and connected. I want each piece to leave the studio with care, context, and intention, so that what is received is not only the object itself, but also something of the feeling and thought behind it.
