About me
Hi:) my name is Céline Munisso. I am a multi-material carver, jeweller, and artist from Luxembourg, based in the South of England.
I come from a background in drawing and circus arts. I was a circus student for 15 years and even taught and assisted in my last few years. Initially, I aimed to become a professional circus artist, but when my body reached its limits, I realised I wanted to pursue a career in arts and crafts instead.
I have been drawing since I can remember, especially as a child. I spent every free moment drawing, especially on my whiteboard and on paper. As I became a teenager, I attended more drawing activities and switched to an art school. Unfortunately, I sort of lost my passion for drawing there as it was primarily academic arts, and I have always been drawn to more abstract drawings and illustrations.

And so, after graduating in 2020, I felt lost. I had no idea what to do with my future or who I wanted to become. All I knew was that I wanted to work in the creative industry, but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do, as my interests in arts and crafts are broad. I have always adored drawing, illustration, and graphic design, yet I knew that if I went down that route, I would end up feeling miserable. I needed something I could do with my hands, but I also wanted to keep the drawing aspect.

Within half a year of coming back, I finally realised that jewellery would unite both my desires of drawing and making with my hands. So, I searched for where I could embark on this journey and discovered the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, where I could do a BA in Jewellery & Silversmithing, and my heart simply knew. This is where I want to be. This is where I need to be. I was definitely not wrong, as I found my home here.
And so my journey began. And gosh, so much has happened in these three years.

I moved to Seoul, South Korea, in hopes of finding my ‘calling’ and attempting the language (quite unsuccessful). It was a life-changing experience, and I can not wait to go back again sometime in the future. I may not have found my ‘calling’ there, but I learned so much about myself (my first time living away from home after having lived in the same house my whole life).

In short, I found people I deeply care about, found my soulmate and got engaged, got my cat, Oona, moved a few times and won an award, all in just three years. I can not wait to see where life takes me from here.
I also found my way back to drawing and found my ‘niche’ in the broad jewellery world, carving sculptural jewellery and objet d’art (more on that in the ‘About my work’ section).
Apart from drawing, jewellery and circus, my ‘special interests’ are birds (as I believe strongly evidenced in my work), cats, bumblebees (hence the logo), Art Nouveau, tattoos, Asian food and a great appreciation for ceramic, glass and craft objects.

As I have now completed my university degree, I am embarking on a new chapter in my life. I am very excited.
